LTE Radio Interface - On-Line

LTE Radio Interface - On-Line

The course contains detailed information about the evolved radio access interface (E-UTRA, aka LTE) introduced in 3GPP Release 8 as part of the Evolved Packet System (EPS). The course focuses on the OFDM-based radio interface physical layer, describing in detail the layer 1 processing chain and the mapping of physical channels onto OFDM Resource Elements. Downlink and uplink control channels for scheduling, Hybrid-ARQ operation and feedback signalling are described in detail.

The course covers the layer 1 procedures for synchronisation, random access, scheduling, power control, sounding and Hybrid-ARQ. An overview of the basic concepts behind OFDM transmission and MIMO is also included.

E-UTRA Overview

  • Evolved Packet System network architecture
  • Summary of radio techniques used in E-UTRA

John Steward describes the methodology that Apis uses for its classroom and on-line training on mobile technolog.

Apis On-Line Training

Introduction

Launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2010, Apis on-line training is the future of mobile technology training. You can now enjoy the full benefits of Apis’ interactive and engaging classroom methodology, whilst conducting the training on your own terms; in any location and at any time.

As a participant of our on-line training, you will first receive a comprehensive documentation set which includes our FoldOuts® which forms a basis for the engaging methodology. You thereafter log in to our easy-to-use learning portal, where you start your course. You can attend the training, in your own pace and in your own time.

Apis’ on-line training is based on videos professionally recorded in a custom designed studio. Our course methodology is mind mapping based and highly structured – just like in our classroom deliveries. Most importantly, we use real subject expert trainers to deliver the training, also in the studio.

Unlike traditional e-learning, our on-line training is engaging. It gives you the opportunity to attend Apis’ quality training with all the cost advantages and flexibility that typically is associated with e-learning. Do you not think it will work? Contact one of our sales representatives to try a demo course.

Customer Benefits

Let’s face it. Competence development continues to be extremely important to any organization that wants to stay competitive. At the same time, it is hard for staff to take several days out of work to attend training. If they have time, they may not have the budget for travel.

The on-line training enables participants to fit the training into their work schedules and between meetings so the training does not impact business critical processes. The cost for travel is removed. All in all, this results in very significant savings for both the employee and employer.

How does it work?

Our video courses are distributed on a dynamic streaming platform, which require our participants to connect to our IT platform in Sweden through the internet. The minimum bandwidth required is 80 kbps but we recommend a 150 kbps connection or better.

The service is designed for Internet Explorer browsers and requires a Flash Player version 10 (available free of charge from Adobe).

Is this e-learning?

Our on-line training is essentially great classroom training distributed through video over the internet. It has nothing in common with traditional e-learning which tends to lack pedagogical qualities, and is based on computer animations of varying quality.

However, it provides the same benefits when it comes to giving the customer the ability to do the training anywhere and anytime.
